Foreman of the logging crew in the Travis Walton case (1975) and Forest Service contractor — his overdue contract, due Nov 10, 1975 with a force-majeure clause, is the motive per Klass. He died on February 6, 2026 (age 78).
What is claimedHe passed the 1975 polygraph and the 1993 retest; after the 2021 dispute he reconciled with Walton and said on a podcast '100% there was no hoax.'
Skeptical viewOn Apr 30, 2021, in a call legally recorded by producer Ryan Gordon, he said verbatim: 'We were talking about creating a UFO hoax… It was all deliberate. It was all a staged thing.' He later alleged the audio was doctored and retracted — but also said 'I did not actually see Travis get abducted.' Both halves are real and documented; his final word remains unresolved.
