The black triangle in AARO's report (2026)
Federal agents at an observation post (place and date redacted) saw at night a matte black triangular object about 9-15 feet across climb vertically for ~10 seconds over a ridge, hover motionless for ~20 seconds and leave in 2-3 seconds in a terrain-hugging dash into a canyon, in 'absolute acoustic silence'. There are two accounts in the seventh PURSUE release (Oct 2026): the agents' statement to the FBI (FD-302) and AARO's debrief after interviewing them. Both sit complete in Nodriza's archive.
What is claimedThe witnesses have drone experience and say any conventional drone or helicopter at 1.4 miles would have been audible on that hilltop; the object showed no varying heat and left no trace in the canyon the next morning. Some outlets reported '1,800 mph'.
Skeptical viewAARO warns the report 'reflects the reporter's interpretation' and is not a conclusive indication of the object's capabilities, and that 'no instrumented speed measurement was obtained': the witnesses compared it to a fighter jet. The '1,800 mph' is in no document; it comes from dividing 1.5 miles —the distance at which the agents lost sight of it— by 'three seconds', which the statement gives as the total length of the sighting, although AARO's account adds up to more than 30 seconds.
