Cisco Grove (California, 1964)
On September 4, 1964, bow-hunter Donald Shrum, separated from his group, spent the night up a tree; he said he was besieged by two humanoids and a 'robot' that emitted a gas that knocked him out.
What is claimedHe threw burning pieces of clothing to drive them off; a fellow hunter who was also lost, Vincent Alvarez, said he saw the same object, corroborating part of the account.
Skeptical viewIt is a single-protagonist testimony with no physical evidence; skeptics attribute it to perception and suggestion in the dark. A cult case for its strangeness.
