Father Gill / Boianai (Papua New Guinea, 1959)

In June 1959, Anglican missionary William Gill and about 37 people from his mission watched, on two consecutive nights (Jun 26–27), a craft with humanoid figures on top.

What is claimedWhen Gill waved, a figure seemed to wave back; 25 witnesses signed a written account, and in 1973 J. Allen Hynek found six who still supported the story.
Skeptical viewSome skeptics propose bright planets (Venus) plus reflections; the case stands out for the number and credibility of witnesses (a clergyman and teachers).
